I'm Jeff Ehrlich, and through my project, The Tone Traveler, I merge sound and stillness. My personal journey began in 1990 with the adoption of a daily meditation practice, which continues to inform the tranquil and expansive nature of my ambient music. As a multi-instrumentalist whose core strengths lie in keyboard and percussion, I've been creating these sonic environments on and off since 2004.
My deep appreciation for sound eventually led to a full-time career as a professional piano tuner since 2009—a profession that reinforces my dedication to nuance, timbre, and musical quality.
Inspiration & Collaboration: My greatest muse is art and the artists themselves. This has shaped my process: nearly all my ambient compositions are created as soundtracks for videos that feature the work of artists I know personally. My hope is to expand this concept from a hobby into a dedicated multimedia portfolio service. By merging original visual art with custom soundscapes, The Tone Traveler aims to create an interesting and captivating online tool for artists to present and showcase their work in a truly unique way.
